This Weeks Favourites

I know I have a monthly favourites video on my YouTube channel however I wanted to do a post on some of my favourite things this week as they usually change week to week then I summarise the stand outs at the end of the month.

My hair has had a rough time lately, it’s been bleached to hell and I’ve been to a few events so I’ve been styling a lot with my incredibly hot curling wand. Although I’ve used a heat protectant spray I’ve still needed to give it extra moisture. I’m also loving orange at the moment, it’s a fresh uplifting colour that works well with any skin colour in my opinion, you might just need to change the tone slightly to suit your colouring.

SPF’s and long-lasting formulas are also on my makeup menu and somewhere along the line stationary has been included. I’ve always been a spreadsheet and pie chart geek but my passion for pens has reached a new height thanks to Muji.

MAC – Lady Danger.

My current favourite red lipstick, it’s bold and has a citrus touch of orange undertone. If you’re looking for a product to lift your tired looking face try this. It also makes you look polished even if you do little else than tinted moisturiser and mascara.

AUSSIE – 3 minute Miracle.

I’ve been loyal to this for years, the bubblegum scent is addictive, the packaging clever and the treatment fabulous.  It has anti-oxidant properties and the Australian Balm Mint is considered “The Elixir of Life” My hair always looks and feels smooth after using.

BARRY M – Coral nail paint.

For the price tag you can’t go wrong with Barry M, the shades and finishes are always on trend and hot on the heels of the big brands. I find it lasts well and the colour is pigmented. This Coral shade is a slightly deeper tone of orange but not as pink as I would associate the typical coral shade. It’s very wearable and works with most outfits. WINNER!

MAC – Prolongwear foundation NC20.

I had reservations about this product, it looked heavier than I like on the skin and felt a little drying however my skin has changed a little and is settling down. I still wouldn’t wear it day and night as after a full day it feels a little heavy but it definitely stays put. I’ve been mixing it with strobe cream and buffing small amounts into the skin which my skin is preferring. It has now become my evening foundation, It’s almost like an instagram filter in a bottle.

MUJI – Perspex Container

I couldn’t resist a trip into Muji, more so for desk organisation than makeup storage. I loved this small simple pot for my pens and maybe later pencils… I have a lot of stationary!

MAC – Prep + Prime Colour Correcting Adjust.

This is new in my collection and has been my pre-foundation go-to with its high SPF 30 and peachy-beige shade that smooths, evens and brightens my skin. I did half of my face with this and was so pleased with the results. Review coming soon!

MUJI – Highlighters.

What can I say, I’m a magpie for bright things. These are particularity cool though as they’re click top so you don’t need to remove a cap to use them.
