New: Loreal Steam Pod

STEAMPOD

Not too long ago I decided to dabble with a bit of Ombre, to be honest I’m not a huge fan of it but on some people it looks devine! Kate Beckinsale being one. My hair was around rib length and having felt bored of the long brown hair I had I decided to give it a little make-over and give it the blonde tips. I loved it at first, the colour wasn’t too blonde but as the weeks went by the condition of my hair got worse and I found my hair knotting all the time which is unusual for me. I used treatments at home but it was snapping at the bottom and leaving uneven tips so I decided to go chocolate brown an chop a good few inches off.

You will see in the video how long it is and then you can see the length

I went to Ysalon in Newcastle located in Eldon Gardens, (the posh bit of Eldon Square!) We discussed the colour, cut and treatment I would need to get it into a healthy state. I decided a deep chocolate brown would be best and a good cut to get rid of the blonde, see how it looks in the gallery

Angela used Inoa rich chocolate to colour my hair – I had a patch test prior to the treatment but if you are considering a colour make sure you book in for a patch test prior to any colour service. They strongly recommend a skin sensitivity test although most people do not have an allergic reaction you can become allergic at any time as products keep advancing so although you may have coloured your hair for years it is still possible for a reaction to occur also some people are on medication which can also react with colour.

When it came to blowdrying Angela sprayed my hair with a little Structure Hair Foundation spray which is a prep and prime for the hair, detangling and adding moisture and shine. My hair was then blowdried smooth and then the Steam Pod came into action. L’Oreal have partnered with the creator of the iron and created the steam pod which uses high pressure steam to push treatments that are combined with a range of Pro Keratin products, the Steampod just glides through the hair.

This is perfect for hair types normal and slightly sensitised and for medium and very sensitised hair, so if hair is maybe over processed and needs a little help this would benefit you or if you just want a healthy boost to hair.

To finish Mythic oil was used throughout the mid lengths and ends, since having the treatment done my hair has been so smooth and tangle free. It looks and feels healthy which is a combination of the Steam Pod and a good cut.

If you are interested in the Steam Pod it’s £30 call 0191 230 1010 to make an appointment. They’re also on twitter @Y_salon

Y salon is a L’Oreal colour Specialist Salon with Angela Lowery being one of the only stylists to have a degree in colour!
