Hide Tired Eyes With This Seasons Makeup Trend
White eyeliner is having a serious moment in the makeup world right now – with celebs, catwalks and editorials featuring a bold alternative to black.
Pati Dubroff created the beautiful makeup on Margot for her latest movie – I, Tonya. Dubroff used a stark white eyeliner to frame Margo’s eyes adding soft definition to the lower lashline.
Focus was kept on the eyes with complementary soft pink tones to the lips and cheeks. The overall look is fresh, minimal and incredibly chic!
Another inspiration is Willow Smith. I actually can’t express how much I admire this young lady. She has so much fire, determination and compassion in her soul. If you don’t follow her instagram, why not?
Willow wore hers on the lower lash-line accompanied by nothing more than a soft pink lip. The imperfect, fingertip application is juxtaposed by the strong defined line on the eyes.
A similar look was seen at Ulla Johnson S/S 18 show however the line was broken with just the inner and outer corners of the lower lash-line lined.
As I write this up a notification pops up on my instagram, I see that makeup artist Ariel has created a strong white and silver liner on Kylie Jenner for the launch of her new Weather collection. The look is incredibly similar to mine however Ariel went for a more lilac pink lip.
I approached this a little differently than the former two, I opted for a metallic, pale champagne version – choosing YSL couture liquid eyeliner.
Keeping with my usual feline shape I exaggerated the line and used soft pink tones on the cheeks and lips for an ethereal feel.

How to wear white.
Applied inside the waterline: white eyeliner can brighten the eyes making them appear larger and doe-eyed.
Or try – Benefit Eye Bright – it’s a very pale pink which has the ability to brighten but is a softer option to white.
Lower Lash-line: Make a statement with either a bold, dotted or brush stroke line. Try a long-wear pencil that won’t smudge. Nars Larger Than Life pencils don’t budge easily!
Or try – if that seems a little out there for you try a little just on the inner corner?
On the upper Lash-line: Go opaque with a cake or even liquid eyeliner like Urban Decay Razor Sharp in Bump.
Or try – a peek-a-boo line. Apply a small line of white eyeliner under the wing of your usual liner. It’s super effective!
Overall it creates a powerful, romantic and bold look that somehow works with all types of outfits.
Try it, you might love it!
