Best Beauty Blogger: The NE Blogger Awards 2014
So
The NE Blogger Awards are the first to be held in the region celebrating our local bloggers, with nominations being whittled down to 3 per category for the night. The scale and effort of the event was incredible and an absolute credit to creator Kari Owers and her team.
The evening started at Lane 7 Newcastle, there was a plush red carpet which lead to the private suite, decorated with Hollywood style illuminated letters and golden Oscar-esque statues. Each category was announced and each of the shortlists videos played on the huge screen (cue huge embarrassment) and then the sponsors came to the stage to congratulate their winner.
I entered the competiton mainly because it was an honour to have such a large event and huge brands recognising the local talent and appreciating the time bloggers put into their craft. That alone made me want to take part, I didn’t realise just how incredible it would be…
We had Metro Radio DJ Dan Black and fellow winner and DJ Lauren Archer for the post awards tunes, followed by an after party at the newly built Tiger Hornsby on Newcastle’s stunning Quayside.

To be surrounded with such creative like-minded people was uplifting , to win was not only an honour, it was the cement which concretes my belief that BeautySauce is as good as I hoped and worked hard for it to be. I went a little against the grain with the design and probably made things more difficult for myself in the process but I had a vision in mind and I’m just delighted my efforts have been noticed.
To be commended on not only the aesthetic but the writing makes me burst with pride as I’m neither a web designer or journalist but some how from sheer determination and a relentless attitude I’ve got there. I still have lots I’d like to improve on but I guess that’s a continuous road upon which I use to strive for perfection. If you have a vision run with it and face the difficulties head on.
I want to thank Kari Owers for a magical night,House Of Savannah and to those who nominated me, I am hugely grateful so this one’s for you guys! xx
