On Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending a hair event at the stunningly beautiful BoilerHouse in Jesmond. This salon is unlike any I have been to before. The industrial feel of the salon (hence the name) is softened with the charm of antique furniture and artisan tables. The attention to detail shows through every inch of the salon right up to the toilets. This artistic vision and creative flair gives you much hope for the care that will go into creating your new style.
Owners Steve Jones and Kim Le-Neveu wanted to create a industrial themed salon with a French shabby-chic edge and I can certainly verify they have achieved this with syle and elegance.
Whilst there I had a Chelsea Blowdry by one of the long hair specialists to give me a bouncy, smooth blowdry. I was intrigued as every time I ask for a voluminous blowdry I come out with hair flatter than a platypus’ foot. The results however were amazing, without any tools other than a brush and hair dryer I had full glamorous hair.

The condition is noticeably smoother too, this could be down to the new Schwarzkopt Fibre Force spray conditioner. We were all treated to the new range by Schwarzkopt beginning with the Fibre Force Cleanser shampoo (which smells divine) the conditioner then the spray conditioner which was the star product for me because when my hair is wet it gets terribly tangled and course. This de-tangles and it improves damaged hair by restoring the keratin bonds. Its power lies with the ability to lock in moisture to get hair back to a healthy pre-colour condition but as it’s a treatment too much can weigh hair down. Once you feel hair is feeling a little heavy stop using it as it means it has restored your hair, amazing!!
So what was the technique to achieve the style you may be wondering?
The stylist dried my hair to 70% dry then taking sections blow dried my hair smooth then pinned it in place before moving onto the next section. Once the hair is all pinned leave for 15 minutes to cool then remove the clips to reveal silky hair that packs volume. I had a serious desperate housewives moment for a second, it was fabulous!
