There’s various brands at the moment creating products enriched with Moroccan Argan Oil but you’ll agree the prices are fairly hefty. Salon Chic Professional have created a very affordable range and I have been trying out the Pure Organic Moroccan Argan Oil, an A-List beauty secret for creating shiny, ultra-healthy hair which is now available for under £10 on the high street.
“Known as a ‘miracle oil’ for its cosmetic benefits, Moroccan Argan Oil is expensive and highly sought after because it is so difficult to obtain, taking up to a week to yield one litre of oil from the seeds of the native Argan tree. Containing natural tocopherols (Vitamin E), antioxidants and essential unsaturated fatty acids, the oil has been painstakingly harvested by Berber tribeswomen for centuries to help protect their skin and hair from the drying effects of the North African climate.”
As well as offering natural UV protection, Argan Oil is rich in essential fatty acids and Omega 9 which help to improve hair strength and health. The perfect holiday haircare treatment, the high Vitamin E levels help to revive hair damaged by wind, sea and sun. The natural sterols also aid moisture retention, making Argan Oil the ultimate weapon against frizziness.
Only a small amount is needed on damp, towel dried hair. Comb through before blow-drying for super sleek results. It made my hair more manageable and glossy. It is oil so don’t go crazy as your hair will look greasy but use it as a treatment for the mid-length to ends and you will notice a difference.
I also apply a little to my hair on an evening before I sleep then wash my hair in the morning. The shampoo breaks it down so don’t worry about hair feeling oily.
It is currently available from Home Bargains and other retailers, you may still be able to take advantage of special introductory prices from £2.99 (normal RRP £5.99 / £9.99).
