It wasn’t until Oliviér came into the world that I realised just how difficult it was to find cool, neutral clothing. Personally I’m just not into the whole pink and blue thing or cutesy prints. Back in 2008 when my first son Andre was born the colour for most clothing and baby nursery furniture was beige. The flippin’ magnolia of the interior world.
I have searched both online and the high-street to bring you some of my favourite brands and curated a shoppable boutique of items that I have and would love to get.
One of my favourite brands has to be Baby Mori. They have, without a shadow of a doubt, created the softest baby clothing I have ever felt. The ethically sourced organic cotton and bamboo mix fabric is designed to be safe for sensitive skin. The gender-neutral styles make it easy to mix and match clothing and for buying as gifts. I love the sleep suits, bodysuits and yoga pants.
Aden & Anais
My go to brand for bath time essentials, from towels to muslin cloths, swaddles and washes. The lightening kimono one piece has been hugely popular and received compliments every time Oliviér wore it.
The White Company needs no introduction so you can only imagine the beautiful things they have for babies. There’s gorgeous one pieces, pjs and pram suits. It’s an ideal place to shop when looking for baby gifts especially if the parents are keeping the gender a surprise. We love this sleep suit as worn in the image below and what little man is wearing as I write this!
LaRedoute is a brand I have been familiar for years as I used to flick through the catalogues in my late teens. R Mini is their childrens range and although split into gender categories they also do awesome gender-neutral designs like the monochrome pieces below.
I love the geometry designs and materials however the one thing I wish they would improve on is the length of the tops as they seem a little short on both that I have.
When it comes to the high-street H&M do the best polo shirt bodysuits and cute sweaters. Zara kids is my one stop shop for shoes, coats and stand out pieces. Another store I’d recommend is M&S, they do great occasion-wear outfits and smart/casual wear. Next is probably a high-street store I shop at the most, they have a great selection of clothing and have introduced some beautiful scandi type monochrome designs.
If you’re looking for a great gift idea try the Stork and Co. they create stunning muslin swaddles that I use as a nursing cover, blanket and swaddle. It’s incredibly soft and affordable.
