At the beginning of the year I shot with the incredibly talented photographer Chris Davis in collaboration with Mazda UK and Jules B. It’s exciting to work with such inspiring creatives, especially when they’re from the North East. At the time of this shoot I was 15 weeks pregnant and although I wasn’t showing massively I still found it a little tricky putting an outfit together. I wanted to prove that being pregnant doesn’t mean that you have to cover up and shy away from cut out details that may expose a little of the stomach.
This may look like a dress but it is in fact a pencil skirt (pulled a little higher over the belly button) underneath a slightly cropped sleeveless top by T by Alexander Wang at Jules B.
Creating balance is key so having the longer length in the skirt and the higher neck gives it a demure silhouette but the mesh gives it a more fashionable approach.
Adding a subtle detail with leopard print heels and tortoise shell sunglasses pulls the outfit together keeping it all tonal whilst contrasting against my silver hair and white car.
Location – Newcastle Quay Side and City Centre rooftop.
