This is another shoot I did which you may recognise from my banner, for the shoot I was inspired by some of the hairstyles seen on the S/S runways mixed with the desire to look fabulous on holidays. Becky from Storm models was the perfect girl, she has gorgeous hair and an immaculate complexion so I was so excited to work with her.
Dan Bonar did the hair in three different styles, Full and glamorous, Sleek, and Beachy. I wanted to keep the make-up consistent as I wanted focus to be on the different hair looks and how they all work with the simple make-up.
The Gallery shows the images and finished article.
Model-Becky Thompson at Storm Models
Face – Prep
Becky had no make-up on or moisturiser so I lightly cleansed with Caudalie Cleansing water
I spayed the cleansed skin with Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Tapped NUXE on the lips and round the eyes
Loccitane light moisturiser on the face
Once it had sunk into the skin I applied Benefit Porefessional and sweeped a little Mac strobe cream around the high planes if the face.
For the perfect complexion I mixed a few base products with brighteners
Chantecaille Just skin Glow
Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser in Nude
Laura Mercier Illuminator in Warm Radiance
Tiny touch of By Terry Apricot Eclat De Teint
Bourjois concealer pen under the eyes
Chanel Bronze universal around the hair-line, temples and under cheekbones.
Laura Mercier Invisible powder on forehead (smallest tiniest amount)
Chanel Bronze Universal as contour
Make-up Atelier Natural Rose cream blush
Urban Decay – Sin to brow
Laura Mercier Caviar stick in Amethyst smudged into upper lashine and lower outer corner with an angled brush
Collection 2000 waterproof mascara
Lipliner NYX pinky
Lipstick Laura Mercier evening pink
MAC clear creme gloss
I wanted the finished look to look polished but in no way overdone, in harsh sun foundation is very visible that’s why tinted moisturisers look best. For the eyes I wanted a light wash of a silky champagne colour right to the brow and a slightly defined lash line. No eyeliner, no false lashes and definitely waterproof mascara. Lips can afford to be bold as the rest of the face is paired down.
