On Saturday I was unbelievably excited to take part in the Elite Model London event with Look Beauty and Look Magazine. Elite Model London is a one of the Worlds biggest agencies and my role was make-up to the beautiful hopefuls taking part in the Nationwide search to be a top model with Elite. Look Magazine supplied us with their brand new range Look Beauty which included 3 foundations, lipglosses, eyeshadows, liner, bronzer and blush.
In the first round the girls had 2 looks to choose from; strong brow and bright lips or natural golds and peach. During this round the girls had their measurements taken along with photographs and then semi-finalists were chosen. In round 2 the semi-finalists showcased their walks and await the decision as to who will be a finalist…exciting!
See behind the scenes and swatches of the products
We were given shade Light, Medium and Dark. The colours are more on the yellow side so may be too warm for very pale skin tones. The finish left skin looking fresh and dewy however on dry skin it didn’t seem to work too well.
The Blush & Bronzer
Both didn’t have too much pigment but did make skin look lovely, I used the blush on every skin colour. It contains reflective pigments so skin looks healthy and glows.
Very very pigmented gorgeous in fact but they have lots of fall out, they’re buttery soft which is a dream but unless you work the product into the brush well before you apply your going to be in trouble.
This is super soft and pigmented, I used this to create a soft lightly smudged look and as the pencil is so soft it took no effort to blend, if you have smaller lid space try setting the liner with a black eyeshadow to reduce transfer.
The Lip Slicks
These looked great on everyone, they were hydrating and weren’t sticky.
Double Hit Lip
This is a lipstick and gloss in one, the colour is pretty however once the lipstick and gloss were on the lips they dries a little and went slightly ‘bitty’ as if the product was crumbling. I would rather use the Lip Slicks but the idea of 2 products in 1 is great.
I spotted these products out in Superdrug in the Metro Centre!
There’s more events coming up and I would strongly advise any aspiring models to turn up and try out. The next one is this weekend so make sure to look on the site so see when your local event is. EliteModelLook
So what were they looking for from the girls in the North East? I spoke to Elite Director France Chiacchio who talked me through the look.
What are you looking for today?
FC – “Today we are looking for girls with that English Rose look, small features, natural hair etc”
Are You Impressed With The Girls Today?
FC – “Very, they look great – there has been some beautiful girls today but I don’t understand why many girls have come with so much false tan, false lashes and false hair, they don’t need it.”
Are You Looking Forward To The Next Events?
FC – “Yes, we have Dublin, Glasgow, Cardiff and Thurrock to go to next so we have lots of girls to see.”
France was a very lovely and very focused lady, being the Director she didn’t stop for a second. It was clear that she was very impressed with some of girls which is satisfying knowing these girls are representing the good North East. In fact last years winner was from Newcastle !. What I will say though is if you are going to enter this make sure you go looking a simple as possible, no fussy hair – just wear it down and loose, in a pony tail or bun. NO false eyelashes (she hated that) Very minimal make-up, and under NO circumstances false tan. Hope this helps and good luck!
I had so much fun and wish all the finalists the best of luck
