Wild is a new range of body products and today I am reviewing the Extra Hydrating Body Butter and Soap made with Shea, Cape Chestnut and Aloe. Cape Chestnut oil has natural UVB protective qualities and the fragrant Rose Geranium and Roman Chamomile is said to be calming.
The range uses natural ingredients and essential oils from Africa, which has also inspired the bold, jazzy designs of the products each wrapped in a gift bag made from African fabric. I adore African fabric so I love that they have incorporated it into the packaging.
The soap is a good size, at 200g you won’t be using all this in a hurry and the moisturiser is equally as generous containing 170ml of creamy hydrating moisturiser.
‘The beautiful pink flowered display of the Cape Chestnut tree, or Calodendrum capense can be seen in early summer all along the east side of the African continent but particularly in the equatorial highlands of Kenya.
The oil from its seeds is know locally as Yangu Oil and despite its name the tree bears no relation to our own much loved Chestnut trees. The magical seeds are black and shiny and are crushed to produce an oil of the highest quality that has been used by African women for years. Modern tests have now revealed that in fact the oil has inherent UV protective qualities plus a high content of essential fatty acids and anti oxidants.
Using only the highest quality oils and the purest ingredients from trees and plants from Africa we have created a unique range of body butters, soaps and hand creams that are as beautiful to look at as they are fabulous for your skin. The designs draw inspiration from the traditional fabrics of West Africa whilst looking firmly forward to the excitement of new African fashion evolving in the fast growing cities.
By creating Fair Trade opportunities we are helping to empower the men and women of Africa to create a sustainable income from the world around them .With livelihoods linked to the environment there is also the added benefit of helping to conserve for future generations the habitat and wildlife by preventing deforestation and erosion of the land.‘
My hands have been particularly dry and in poor condition due to the weather and central heating but after using this they feel soft and like satin. What I found most interesting was they looked immediately better and almost dewy, woohoo!
